About this event
As part of Dying Matters Awareness Week, a creative workshop utilising materials either supplied, or brought in by participants i.e. clothing, trinkets, buttons, keepsakes, that in turn will be turned into a 'memory' either of the participants' loved one or as a 'memory' to be passed down to family members.

Seated at the table, cosy on the sofa or even on the 'keelson' join us to relax and chat whilst creating your memory. Price includes refreshments, embroidery ring, fabric, bits & bobs and threads.

Led by Vikki at 'MaeKandoo', an established textile creative who makes beautiful hand crafted gifts and home accessories, sharing her experience through workshops and community projects. Each item is individually stitched using free motion embroidery, using quality reclaimed and vintage fabrics.

Coffin Club Colchester help people to reclaim a participatory relationship with death and build strong, supportive communities where people can have frank conversations and reflect on their future with camaraderie. We empower people and help them understand their choices and options for low cost funeral planning.

SB May, The Bread & Roses Barge CIC is a female led project aspiring to restore SB May and creating a floating bakery, which in turn will provide support for vulnerable women from all walks of life.

This event has been made possible with the support of Colchester Catalyst, a grant making charity since 1990, following the sale of the former Colchester Oaks Hospital. At that time, the Charity resolved to devote its income from the invested funds of that sale to supporting the many caring organisations working for the relief of the sick or suffering in North East Essex.

Tickets are £10 each and the numbers are limited to 20 places
They can be purchased on Eventbrite
