🌷 Spring Newsletter 🌷

As spring begins to unfold, we’re excited to share some wonderful progress, upcoming events, and opportunities to get involved with The Bread and Roses CIC.

A Season of Progress We’re delighted to share that we have been successful in a couple of recent grant applications — a huge step forward for the project.

Our sincere thanks go to The Tudwick Foundation, whose generous support has enabled vital winter works on SB May. This has included removing the masts and repairing the cover, so she no longer leaks and the deck is now protected from further deterioration.

We are also incredibly grateful to the Community Initiative Fund for their grant, which will help us move forward with plans to open a creative café. We’re very excited about this next stage and will be sharing more details soon.

Afternoon Teas Return

In collaboration with Brightlingsea Harbour, our much-loved afternoon teas will be resuming from mid-April. These have been a real highlight in the past, and we’re so pleased to bring them back.

Tickets and details are available here:Boat Trips & Foot Ferry - Brightlingsea Harbour

A Film to Celebrate the Project

We were honoured to have a beautiful video made about The Bread and Roses project. It really captures the spirit of what we’re trying to create, and we’re absolutely delighted with it.

It truly is worth a watch!

A Special Milestone

Next month marks five years of The Bread and Roses project. To celebrate, we’ll be holding a special event on 2nd May, more details will follow very soon, but we do hope you’ll join us to mark this milestone so make a note in your diary..

Volunteers Welcome

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, and we’d love to welcome more people to the project.

We are particularly looking for:

  • Support with promotion and advertising

  • Help with running our afternoon tea sessions

If you feel you could contribute in any way, please do get in touch — your time and skills would make a real difference.

Thank You

As always, thank you for your continued support. This project is growing because of the community around it, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has helped us along the way.

With warm wishes for the season ahead,The Bread and Roses CIC Team 🌸
